The
Famous Oklahoma Indian set of eight glasses, pitcher,
and tray were distributed in 1959 and available for free
from Knox Oil with a purchase of 10 gallons or more. Knox
Industries commissioned Acee Blue Eagle to produce eight
paintings to be reproduced on 15 oz. tumblers. Besides
the well-known 6 1/2" frosted glasses, there is a
lesser known clear set of 5 1/4" glasses. These glasses
are wide at the top and narrow at the bottom. This set
also comes with a clear pitcher which is extremely difficult
to find. The designs are the same on both sets of glasses,
as are most of the colors, but the designs are
smaller on the clear set.
The Chase/Kelly book lists
the set as shown above at $175.00 - 275.00. Tomart's price
guide lists the glasses at $5-10, the carrier at $20.00-$30.00,
and the pitcher at $30.00 - $60.00.
