7-Eleven Hanna Barbera Grape Ape Glass

     The 1976 7-Eleven Hanna Barbera set consists of four different glasses including: Grape Ape (shown to the right), Scooby Doo, Hong Kong Fuey, and Speed Buggy. These glasses are not found very often. There was some thought when the first few were discovered that they might me a sample set. However, it appears that they were a very limited west coast promotion. Most all the glasses I have encountered were found in California. All the glasses in the set are very colorful with wrap around action. The Scooby Doo glass is probably the most desirable in the set given the number of Scooby collectors.
     This particular glass is lot #1 in CGN auction #72. It is listed as having a very slight loss of gloss, but it actually looks more like a matte finish on the black coloring.
